Funny thing about the fav distro thing is he never used debian (source: http://www.oneopensource.it/interview-linus-torva... ;-)
Are you sure which you have the details straight? I have read a number of articles that contradict what you said here, so I do not know what to believe.
I can look for the reference to a site with a large quantity of articles on a theme interesting you.
